Description: Discover your Personal Legend! A high school program that employs project-based learning to teach individuals how to become active community members through transformational leadership through drama. We work with larp event production skills, personal and community development skills, and, self discovery through the community arts. Participants of this program are expected to work on community projects and hold themselves to a balanced personal moral standard.

When time allows we also work with old world traditions, community activism, and, a martial arts black belt curriculum, and the study of historical artist and philosophers, in order to nurture mental and physical skills for self-actualization.

Programming at the Evenda Marshals Academy runs two times a week in the evenings during the regular academic school year. Each class offers a unique focus and a different curriculum, with experience appropriate materials for varying experience levels. Participation also makes an individual eligible for the C.I.T. program at the middle school level.

These classes run by session, which are two month intervals.

  • Session 1 runs Sep & Oct: New year game and story design, STEAM curriculum goals for community, community seasonal opening event.

  • Session 2 runs Nov & Dec: Event Skills development through multiple intelligences.

  • Session 3 runs Jan & Feb: Event production design through 21st century skills.

  • Session 4 runs Mar and Apr: Middle school larp event productions and cross generational curriculum.

  • Session 5 Runs May and June: End of year community seasonal closing events and reflections through immersive narratives.

HS LARP

Our most popular high school class running for over ten years, this class teaches students how to design and run larp events as well as the core skills to becoming an educator and community leader. Students are taught how LAP uses ICS design in a community arts environment to produce high end production events.

  • HS LARP is a continuation of the middle school Heroes Academy curriculum that explores how to create the LARP environment and support others in the LARP experience. Throughout the year, youth will learn to build immersive environments based on sensory knowledge, experience the technical aspects of theatre performance, further develop acting and improvisation skills, and collaborate with their peers to create and put on a full event at the end of the year. Class open to ages 14+ with prior L.A.P. curriculum experience, others are welcome but should inquire with L.A.P. to determine suitability. Participants of this class are also expected to have an active Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED certification, which LAP offers classes for in this classroom environment. In addition this class offers support as a launch program for college and professional life.


    Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evenings. Classes start for the 2019-2010 academic year on the 11th of September.

So You Want to Be a Hero (SYWBH)

An advanced curriculum for youths interested in exploring community leadership and activism through personal development and transformation. Ideal for youths looking to expand leadership skills and exploring LARP as a transformational tool. Should be paired with the standard High School LARP class and participation in the C.I.T. program is highly encouraged. Class open to ages 14+ with prior L.A.P. curriculum experience.

  • SYWBH covers story and character design and development, game design and rule book production, curriculum writing, teaching philosophy, classroom management, advanced L.A.P. curriculum techniques and personal development. The class is designed by the student body and there interests as well as the needs of the community as we grow and change.
